Convenient location in the heart of everything! Enjoyed dining at a fabulous restaurant 🍽️ that also had a great selection of drinks at the bar.

we were quite late in arriving and probably the last guests in the restaurant. The waitress made us feel very welcome and although she was working early the following morning, she allowed us to have a very relaxing meal and drinks without feeling any pressure to vacate the restaurant.

The Lodge does not appear too appetising from the outside, but it really is very nice inside with a lovely reception area and restaurant, serving a fantastic, all you can eat, English breakfast! The twin room was clean - no thrills - but perfect for what I was after and very quiet, allowing a good night's sleep before a long day of walking in The Dales.
The Lodge is located at a service station, but don't let this put you off. There were substantial roadworks taking place the weekend I was there which were a little noisy, but this couldn't be helped.

Carpet in the bathroom was horrible. Filthy and unhygenic. Cups were stained and dusty and the whole room needed a good renevation.

A very convenient stop-over on a1. Plenty of space in the bedroom and good range of facilities such as hairdryer, trouser press, iron and ironing board. Excellent breakfast in very pleasant surroundings of Market Place restaurant. Friendly family atmosphere. Good car parking and carwash on site.
Decor was a bit tired-looking and although the bedding etc was spotless the dirty carpet was a bit off-putting and I did leave a suggestion to the effect that it would be good to replace carpet in the en-suite with more hygienic tiles/vinyl as it was a bit smelly.
